Forage Processing
Our new forage dehydration and pelletizing plant results of an adjustment effort between the market demands and the intrinsic characteristics of our region such as soil use, irrigation availability and edaphic or climatic factors.
Our forage processing unit was designed to produce high quality forage and forage-based pellets thanks to an innovative and more efficient low temperature dehydration system that preserves grasses nutrient content and colour.
The production system, from forage cultivation to industrial processing is assured by DCF through partnerships with local farmers.
PELLETS
Made with selected forages, our forage pellets are an excellent protein, fiber and calcium source for ruminants and other herbivores. We produce different diameters appropriated for direct consumption or compound feed incorporation.
SOL® CUBES
Made with selected forages, this particular kind of pelleted feeds are especially recommended for ruminant supplementation in extensive production systems in periods of pasture scarcity. The cohesion of DCF forage cubes and their dimensions allow direct administration in the soil without significant losses.
Our cubes are available in two different diameters: 16 mm for bovines, and 10 mm for sheep, goats and horses.
The higher protein content formulations can also be integrated in feed programs for beef and dairy productions.
ORGANIC PRODUCTION
In June 2017, with the conversion of several alfalfa and annual forage crops fomented by DCF, SA, we started the production of certified organic forage pellets and cubes under the license AB0036UT.
FORAGE PLANT SPECIES
Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is the main constituent of our forage pellets. We also include several types of annual ryegrass, oats and grass-legume crops.
Forage crops are monitored by our technicians from sowing to harvest in order to safeguard the efficiency of the factors of production use and to ensure a homogeneous and high quality product.
Our forage pelletizing facilities also enable the addition of grains, vegetable by-products, minerals and other supplements in order to meet our costumers specific needs.
